Good Morning All :)

Small update from my side.
Did some more work on the windows.
I finished the one wall and sprayed the Windows white.

I think it is looking GREAT !!!!!!  :thumb: I love it.....

Good Morning All....

Hope everybody had a good weekend.

I did some work on my Windmill again :)
Build is not going as fast as I would like, but hopefully I can focus on it now and get is finished.

To finish the windows I had to first finish the walls. The walls and the out buildings on the water side is for some reason clapboard ans a dark brown colour where the rest of the building is yellow painted. So I cut 2mm strips out os paper and glued it on with a overlap of 1mm.

Took forever, but well worth the effort.
I still have to finish the 2 out buildings and then I will paint it and fit the windows.

Good Morning All,

As promised I worked a little bit more  :thumb:

I managed to finish the walls, luckily the rest is not clapboard, so I could just scribe them to show vertical planks.
Then I painted a medium brown as a base and once it was dry I painted a second coat with a wood stain. I think it worked quite well.
I will just spray it with a matt clear coat as the stain ends up being glossy.

Then I fitted, sprayed and final fit a few windows again.

Good Morning All,

So, another challange was to build the roof. I wanted to buy the tile roof sheets but the Noch one I wanted @ R200 !!!!!  :eek: No.....
So I decided to build a Shingle Roof. I have seen Jason Jenson do this and I think I can make it happen. Here is a link to his video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6TuBDZzzSg)

1st - I glued on a base for the roof.
2nd - I measured 3mm on paper and cut strips.
3rd - I cut the tiles, random and left 1mm of the 3mm strip. (3rd pic)
4th - I started to glue the strips on the base on the building.
5th - Once it was dry I randomly lifted a few tiles.

Last part.....

6th - First coat of brown paint
7th - I randomly painted a few tiles red
8th - I dry brushed dark and light grey over it all.

I'm quite happy with the end result, it took forever to do, but it is well worth the effort.
This week it will be the other side of the building.

Good Morning All.....

Hope everybody had a great easter weekend. We went to Hermanus again and it was GREAT. Really enjoy the relaxing and just be out of the city and the norm.

I took my SawMill with again  :thumb:
So when I had some time, I worked on it.
Have to say got quite a lot done.
Roofs are all finished as well as all the windows.

So next is the base of the WindMill and the walkway around it. It is built already, just need to finish the painting and then fit.

I love that roof with some of the tiles not lying flat.
Really makes that roof three dimensional.
