Custom Build Saw Mill from Holland

Good Morning All,

I was unpacking all my Grandfarther's train stuff and I came across this drawing (1st Pic)
I think I found it way back in the day in one of the Hobby Bulletins from my Grandfarther.
I remember when I was still at school or just after when I was studying I built this out of paper, but have no idea what happend to the model.

So I thought this is much nicer than the kit I bought from Walters, so I decided to attempt a build.
I came in contact with a guy in Holland and I received about 180 pictures from him.

A friend of mine have a laser cutter so we are going to cut all the pieces from 1.5mm Plywood.

So, I sat down and the past 3 weeks I drew all the parts for the building.
I bought a 2nd hand Windmill from Faller which I will change to fit.

This weekend we will cut the wood and then I will start the build.

Good Morning All,

So it was the BIG day on Sunday.
I visited my friend Arno (1st Pic) and we cut all the sections out of 1.5mm ply.

Awesome, and so incredibly precise and fine.
He built the cutter himself and it is just amazing.

Now I have to paint and build  :biggrin: Biiiiiiiig Job ahead still.

Oh, and yes, I will fit a motor. The Windmill in my Town already have a motor and it is awesome.

Does your friend do work for other people? I have been drawing up a structure kit for sometime and would like to have it cut.

With what did you draw and on what do you want to cut?

I design i rhino Cad and would use thin mdf or ply wood as the sub structure, then build my weathered planking over that.

Chat to him and let me know what he will charge.

Good Morning All,

What a awesome weekend away.
Good family time and just relax and not thinking about work or the city life.

When I had time I sat with the sawmill build. I have to say it is working quite well.

Picture 01 - Starting the build process
Picture 02 - I scribed lines on to the face of the wood 1mm apart to show the planks.
Picture 03, 04 - Now to start the assembly, I used Lego blocks to keep everything straight and square.
Picture 05 - First building, all the walls are together, now it is ready for paint.

I guess a update is in order  :biggrin:
I drew up all the windows and doors for my friend, so that it can be 3D printed.

Took a while to setup, but once I have done one or two it went quite quick.
So another step is finished.
