« on: March 13, 2016, 12:53:53 PM »
Spent 4 hours yesterday hunting a short, which took 2 minutes to fix.    Who said model railroading is fun ?

I bet it was in the first place you didn't look at properly  ::)  ;)  I know that feeling so I feel your pain.  It happens to me regularly when doing loco repairs.

Besides what else would you have done with those 4 hours and 2 minutes? :P

I relaid track to include a second crossover to improve switching in one of the towns.  In relaying the track, the wiring to an auxiliary switch which switches power to the frog on one of the turnouts was reversed.   Talk about frustration and word choice when I tracked it down !

I spent the rest of the day checking the polarity of all 143 turnouts in the layout, even though I had checked them all before.

Cheers,
Steve :'(

Ai.... That's not good.....
I think we all got stuck with this some or other time.
And I don't even like doing the electrical stuff. So if it breaks I really get depressed  :'(

But it is fixed now, so that is good.
So Steve, when can we see some trains running  :stir:

Got the same T-shirt, but never checked wiring for 143 turn-outs before. Like the endurance!  :thumb:

Am forging ahead, hopefully we will be able to run the full length of the layout towards the end of Winter.

Cheers.
